Next Year in the AFC North

I came across a mention of the Bengals in an analysis of the relative prospects of the teams in the AFC North next year. Of course, since the source, Steve Doerschuk of the Canton (Ohio) Repository was writing from the perspective of the Cleveland Browns, he had to be optimistic in his predictions, right? Because from where they were this past season, the 0-6 Browns can only go up.

Actually, he had a few good points about players who’ll probably be leaving the Baltimore Ravens and coaches likely to be gone from the Pittsburgh Steelers. His slam against us was snide, though: The Bengals’ 2006 win total matched the number of team members arrested in the last year.” Not cool, but we should be able to figure out a way to deal with it.

Meanwhile, I think the Browns need to concentrate on what they can do right, not pin their hopes on other teams’ problems.

New Coach to shepherd Bengals receivers

Cincinnati Bengals hire new receivers coach--Mike Sheppard will replace Hue Jackson.
