Bengals Win Cat Fight With Panthers

A couple of great moments to me kept our whole season going. One was the call to pass the ball deep to Chad Johnson on 4th down with a yard to go; that gamble led to the play that changed the score from 14-10 Panthers to 17-10 Bengals. We were due for a win, or else.

The other beauty was Kevin Kaesviharn's interception when nobody was looking. Well, that's not true, but it sure seemed like two folks who should have been looking weren't, those two being Panthers QB Jake Delhomme and WR Keyshawn Johnson. Their body language said, "Wha...??" Priceless.

Bengals Over Steelers Make the Cover

Finally catching up on some reading waiting to get my teeth cleaned--this dentist actually has magazines from the current year!--and who did I see on the cover of the October 2nd Sports Illustrated but Cincinnati's own Caleb Miller smashing into Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward! More great photos full of tiger stripes were inside, as well as an article explaining what Bengals fans already knew: we just love to hate the Steelers!

Snap Goes the Cincinnati Bengals Winning Streak

Our Bengals had a nice opening to the 2006 season, but it's not perfect any more. But let's face it--everybody has off days. Like the New England Patriots did last week against the Denver Broncos. They should have been coming into Paul Brown Stadium today undefeated, too. Or at least not embarrassed.

Well, the Pats turned last week's frustrations against Cincinnati today, and I think we need to do the same with this 38-13 game. What we don't need to do is spend our bye week wallowing. The very last thing we need to do is provide a miracle upset to the hapless (winless, to put it bluntly) Tampa Bay Bucs at Raymond James Stadium on October 15th!
