Go Broncos, Beat Steelers!

I am still steaming over the Steelers beating the Cincinnati Bengals and dashing our Super Bowl hopes. They are going to be playing the Denver Broncos on Sunday for the AFC Championship and I am crossing my fingers for the Broncos. Jake Plummmer and Mike Shanahan had better have a plan because the Steelers are on a rampage and have only just buried the Indianapolis Colts who were everybody’s favorite for the Super Bowl since the middle of the regular season.

Carson Palmer’s Impressive Proclamation

Carson Palmer endured a shocking knee injury in his last game and has said his goal is to be back and ready for the first day of training camp. He is a real trooper and hobbled his way on crutches to a press conference to express his thought that Jon Kitna should be signed as his back up. He also said that he does not feel the late hit that caused his injury was a deliberate dirty hit on the part of the Steelers’ Kimo von Oelhoffen. Carson’s dismissal of the rumors surrounding the late hit was admirable and he has shown he is a true Cincinnati Bengal hero.

Palmer and Johnson Can Pull it Off

We already had a guaranteed playoff spot when we lost to the Chiefs but it hurts just the same. We face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the playoffs and this Bengals team is going to have to shake off the negative energy from our 37-3 loss to the Chiefs before they can hope to win against the Steelers. We are 1-1 against the Steelers for the season so it’s really anyone’s game at this point. I am counting on Carson Palmer and Rudi Johnson to get us some yards and points in this match up against our most hated rival.
